Samuel held a very special Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser in honor of his beloved Grandfather. In the beautiful surroundings of Daisy Hill Forest, Samuel had supportive family and friends baking and people donating for this very important Charity. The Community came together being serenaded by the very talented Justin Geange and his beautiful daughter Tegan. The tea cups were filled and served morning tea by waiters the Hon Minister Mick de Brenni, Danny Stock and Mark Glancy. Samuel took photos and thanked our guests who attended, supported and enjoyed the morning. Lots of smiles were shared and most importantly every cup of tea we had we were raising money to support further treatment, research and support for those suffering from Cancer. Almost $600 was raised for this very special cause.
Samuel wanted to help the Homeless, he put a call out saying it is winter and it is cold and there are people living on the streets with no warm clothes, food and blankets. In Qld 49 people out of every 10,000 are homeless. Last year Samuel helped a wonderful charity called the Fishers of Men. They provide a Christian Community based street van in Logan, meals, blankets, furniture for those exiting the crisis cycle and a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for people in need. In one word they are amazing! With the support, kindness and donations last year the community helped him supply over 70 homeless packs, food and clothing and this year with amazing hand knitted blankets, scarfs, beanies, cash for food donations, mens clothes and much more. These donations were given directly to the Homeless. The Homeless were also fed a warm meal, dessert, warm drinks plus given clothes, blankets and all the donations while sitting around heaters listening to the amazing messages from the Fishers of Men that have transformed lives and helped so many.
An amazing achievement - thank you to the community for over 20,000 School Supplies for 10 local Schools in Logan.
When hearing that some of our Local Schools will have over 50 children to give School Supplies too on their first day this amount was so overwhelming.
